My Reflection

This standard requires modeling digital age work and learning. This was easy to do in the program because everything we were tasked with displayed some form of digital use and innovation. The above artifacts include:

(1) A Google course site complete with activities and assessments. This site demonstrates my fluency with technology system. Also, using the system as a medium to collaborate with students. The site has many components and shows my ability to create a comprehensive course site to communicate relevant information using digital age media and formats.

(2) A Weebly site outlining a digital tool called Class Messenger. This tool is a way for an educator to reach out, communicate, and collaborate. Educators can do this with students, peers, parents, and community members. This site shows my fluency in using this particular digital tool as well as communicating relevant information and ideas effectively about the tool by building this site. Instructional strategies, tutorials in using the tool, pros and cons, examples and references are all included in the site. The tutorial not only includes written instructions on how to join and use the tool, but also a video using screen capturing and voice-over software. Visitors have two options for different learning styles to show how to join and use the tool. This models my ability to use current and emerging digital tools to support learning.

(3) A course site developed with the help of Weebly. This course site is comprehensive and include communicating with students and evaluating student knowledge. Different forms of digital age media and formats are displayed in this course site as well. This course supports the transferring of information and resources to support student success.

My Future Learning Goal

My future learning goals include learning about and incorporating more digital tools. I would also like to collaborate with my peers using a digital tool. I think this would help in changing the culture of the naysayers in my organization that are against change. My supervisor and some of my peers would appreciate this effort and find it refreshing. I also think it would do alot in slowly pushing our efforts toward a more digital organization.
